Visitation days will alternate even and odd according to the last digit of the detainee’s A#. Detainees can have one visit per week for 60 minutes. The facility recommends you arrive at least 45 minutes ahead of your scheduled time so you can be processed appropriate through security. Attorneys can visit clients seven days a week from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (including holidays).

Delivery bonds (i.e., immigration bonds) cannot be posted in-person directly at the Houston Contract Detention Facility. Instead, family members or associates can post an immigration bond at any of the 82 ICE-ERO facilities around the country that accept immigration bonds. The closest facility to the Houston Contract Detention Facility that accepts immigration bonds is located at 500 E. Mann Road, Suite A-3, Laredo, TX 78041. The number there is (956) 728-6600. Immigration bonds can be posted Monday-Friday (except holidays) at this facility from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Bonds cannot be posted directly at the Houston Contract Detention Facility.
To post an immigration bond for someone detained at Houston Contract Detention Facility you must have a money order, cashier’s check or certified check. If the bond amount exceeds $10,000 and over, you can only pay by single cashier’s check or a certified check. All payments should be made to the “US Department of Homeland Security” or “Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
If you do not want to post the bond in-person yourself, you can also have a licensed immigration bond agent post the bond for you. For a small fee, ranging from 2% – 10%, an agent can post the bond for you electronically, so that you do not have to travel to the ICE-ERO facility. This process is typically faster and easier than posting a bond yourself.

Not every ICE detention facility allows you to post an immigration bond in Texas. If you would like to post an immigration bond it must be done at an ICE-ERO facility that accepts immigration bonds.

Video transcript: The amount of an immigration bond is determined by an immigration judge or Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also known as ICE. The amount usually ranges from $2,500 to $15,000 depending on the particular circumstances of each individual immigrants case. The bond amount can be paid directly to an ICE ERO facility by cash, money order or certified check. Regardless of what the amount is, it is always faster to use an immigration bond agent to get a detainee released because an immigration bond agent can post the bond electronically without having to be at the facility in person.
