Visitation hours:
Visitation hours at the Berks Family Residential Center can only be made by appointment. Visitation hours take place daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. To make a visitation reservation you can contact a caseworker at (610) 396-0310, ext. 2360 or 2361 between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM daily.
Visits can last any reasonable amount of time as long as they don’t interrupt daily activities (meals, medical, court, etc.). You should always plan on arriving at least 45 minutes before the scheduled visitation time so you can be processed appropriately through security. All visitors must show a valid ID.
Attorneys are allowed to visit their clients daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. All legal visits must be scheduled in advance (72 hours).

Delivery bonds (i.e., immigration bonds) cannot be posted in-person directly at the Berks Family Residential Center. Instead, family members or associates can post an immigration bond at any of the 82 ICE-ERO facilities around the country that accept immigration bonds. The closest facility to the Berks Family Residential Center that accepts immigration bonds is located at 3400 Concord Road, York, PA 17402. The number there is (717) 840-7771. Immigration bonds can be posted Monday-Friday (except holidays) at this facility from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Bonds cannot be posted directly at the Berks Family Residential Center.
To post an immigration bond for someone detained at the Berks Family Residential Center you must have a money order, cashier’s check or certified check. If the bond amount exceeds $10,000 and over, you can only pay by single cashier’s check or a certified check. All payments should be made to the “US Department of Homeland Security” or “Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
If you do not want to post the bond in-person yourself, you can also have a licensed immigration bond agent post the bond for you. For a small fee, ranging from 2% – 10%, an agent can post the bond for you electronically, so that you do not have to travel to the ICE-ERO facility.
