      Hours of Operation:

      There are four different immigration detention housing units; hours of visitation are as follow:

      • Unit 1: Sunday & Monday, 9AM-1PM; Tuesday & Wednesday, 2PM-5PM
      • Unit 8: Sunday & Monday, 9AM-1PM; Tuesday & Wednesday, 2PM-5PM
      • Unit 9: Sunday & Monday, 2PM-5PM; Tuesday & Wednesday, 9AM-1PM
      • Unit 10: Sunday & Monday, 2PM-5PM; Tuesday & Wednesday, 9AM-1PM

      Visitation Rules

      • The facility recommends you arrive at least 45 minutes ahead of your scheduled time so you can be processed appropriate through security.
      • All visitors must show a valid ID and visits are not to exceed 30 minutes.
      • Attorney’s are allowed to visit their clients from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily (including holidays).
      • Clergy may visit detainees at any time, but visits must be scheduled beforehand with the Chaplain’s office at 256.549.2194.

      Immigration Bond Information

      for the Etowah County Detention Center

      Delivery bonds (i.e., immigration bonds) cannot be posted in-person directly at this center. Instead, family members or associates can post an immigration bond at any of the 82 ICE-ERO facilities around the country that accept immigration bonds. The closest facility to the Etowah County Detention Center that accepts immigration bonds is located 180 Ted Turner Drive SW, 3rd Floor, Rm 337 Atlanta, GA 30303. Immigration bonds can be posted Monday-Friday (except holidays) at this facility from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Bonds cannot be posted directly at the Etowah County Detention Center.

      To post an immigration bond for someone detained at this facility, you must have a money order, cashier’s check or certified check. If the bond amount exceeds $10,000 and over, you can only pay by single cashier’s check or a certified check. All payments should be made to the “US Department of Homeland Security” or “Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”

      If you do not want to post the bond in-person yourself, you can also have a licensed immigration bond agent post the bond for you. For a small fee, ranging from 2% – 10%, an agent can post the bond for you electronically, so that you do not have to travel to the ICE-ERO facility. This process is typically faster and easier than posting a bond yourself.

        Does the facility have public parking?
